1 Life Ends, 1 Life Begins

So yah we went to Salmon today... 2 full hours of a car sick, hate filled trip. 2 hours later and BAM I still feel like I might....hurl. Enough of that! Oh geeze enough of that! Anyway, I got quite the surprise when we pulled into grandpa's farm. A BABY COLT!!! He's sooo cute! I really like the looks of his mother too she's quite a horse. But then again grandpa only has the best!
Ol' Pal is definantly that. Old. Pal. And I can find alot of other words to describe him. Again Old. Again a Pal. Sweet. Blind in his left eye. Scars. Brand on his right shoulder. Horrible feet. Although his coat looks awesome, his health looks awesome, but he just looks old. I personally don't think he has very much time left on this earth. Fly's have almost ate him alive.... it eats me up knowing I could help him yet I can't. Dad won't let me bring him down here, Grandpa wouldn't let me, but I really would like it once we get our barn built. I'll have plenty of stalls to board horses....but hay is a problem. We can't afford feeding any more horses. I guess if I can get Davey and Strider going before next Summer I can probably take in the colt and his mamma. But that is a BIG maybe. Anyway I could at least keep track of Pal. I'm not sure I would want him in a stall, I know he wouldn't want him in a stall. If he doesn't want to be penned up then he'll age twice as fast and die miserable. The only thing that drives me crazy is the fly's are eating him alive! He's blind in one eye because of the fly's, then he has an open sore on his belly because of the fly's. I'd buy him a fly mask and put it on him the next time we would go to Salmon I'd put it on. Then common sense tells me not to, because it might come off and then loose my 15 dollars. Or he might get caught up in it or else who know's what?! Well I'll figure it out, but in the end I'll do what's best for Ol' Pal.
The colt is so cute! His mamma's name is Legacy, so I'm thinking I'll name him Legacy's Pride. Anyway, I'll make room for him when we get our barn next year. Hopefully I'll get enough time to work with his mom too so I can sell her to a good home. Anyway, he's got the build for a magnificent horse. I just hope I can help him reach his full potential. Well I'll give updates here soon about him, his mamma and Priders!
