Feeling the Heat!

The time everyone looks forward too when they sign up for 4-H, yet not. Fair Time. The most horrible, stressful, but fun...time of your lives. I can feel the stresses but at the same time feel excited...I'm come on, seriously?! ;) I'm doing pig and horse 4-H, both extremely fun, extremely stressful, extremely hot (1st week of August :( ).
I don't need anyone to encourage me, I know I will do fine with Pride and with my pig. I'm now starting to feel the baggage pile up, I have to load the tack trailer, figure out the saddle, get small bales to take, order everything I need..... doddy doddy da. I'm stressed out with Pride, its not him its me. We aren't ready for fair, but I can tell you one thing...we will be by the end of this month. By the end of this month my horse and I will be ready. Ready to kick some butt. ;) I'm trying to relieve some of the pressure I feel right now by righting all of this down. One tip I'd give you is think about something wwaaaayyy in advance that way when you go into the show ring, etc. the butterfly's won't hit you like a wave. At night I shut all the lights of in my room, close my eyes and envision me and Pride going into the show ring, performing at our best and then going out with a blue ribbon. I try to make it as real as possible, sometimes I put my hands like I'm holding the reins also, and don't think about all the things that can go wrong, think about the best possible outcome. Your not setting your expectations your setting a goal for you and your horse. Don't expect your horse and you to do that well, just set the goal and if you don't make it, you don't make it. Don't blame your horse, just right down things you noticed about the winners and their horses. Every little detail possible and play with your horse on those. Haha, I'm righting for myself right now without even knowing it. For example, sometimes why Pride doesn't lope slow is because he doesn't get just one lead, he gets two (that could eliminate us for sure), and that's not his fault. It's mine for not spotting it earlier and fixing it. Sometimes its good to have someone video tape you, that way you can watch it and learn. Anyway, I know I can get everything done in time. I just need to plan ahead.
