Wonderful Times

Since I have not dedicated a post to "me" in a long time, I think its time I caught up on me.
Lately it seems like Pride and I are having so much success! We've kept our sessions simple and fun. We're working on Half-Passes at the walk and trot, slowing the trot down, and working on bending on the circle (stregthning his back). Pride has a HUGE trot, believe it or not, because he doesn't have the longest legs :). It's not smooth and usually when he trots fast his head fly's up and he hollows his back. That is one thing that bending on the circle is helping us with, teaching Pride that its good to stretch, but bring your back up and head down to really reach when trotting. We have been having these sessions in the field and Pride loves it! He's really starting to listen to my body, in fact I can slow or whoa him just by quitting riding, he's motivated because he never knows if he can eat or not when we slow or stop. His head is really in the game, its fun! Everytime I feel frustrated, I say to my self over and over, "Pride is trying, it has to be you restricting or keeping him from doing what you asked." In fact, just to document this and prove my point, Pride was having a hard time trotting to the left (he doesn't have as much muscle on that side as his right) he was trying his heart out and I was getting frustrated. Every time I asked him to bend he'd slow to a walk. I started expirementing with my body, if I pushed my ribs up and to the right he would bend elegently and keep gait. BFO (Blinding Flash of the Obvious!). :) By the time our session was over my body was tired! When your riding a horse your active, you dont' just sit there.... I can tell you before my BFO I was dopey kind of inbetween 'active' and 'sitting there'. I felt great though, everything seemed to just fall into place when I formed my body right. So now my little knock out saying now is "he's trying his heart out Kaylee, it has to be you." It pops in my head when I start getting frustrated... (smiling :) we're getting closer to our destination (although we'll never really get there! There's always room for improvement).

Now my social life...
Things are great! Christmas is coming, I have made lots of little things to give to my friends, because I have alot of friends and I'd be broke if I bought them all something. I have also made a new friend lately, he's very nice and he's very fun to be around.

Well life is great!
Have a great Holiday!!!

Keep it Natural,

                     Kaylee
