I had a wonderful day yesterday. What a fun Easter day just having family time! We went fishing in the morning (I got tons of photos) then went home and ate, we loaded the horses up and went to the rodeo grounds and rode for 2 hours, then came home and feasted on rolls and ham :).
Pride did aMaZIng! I rode him bareback (due to the lack of a fitting saddle) and we worked on slow trotting, stretching his back up, riding straight lines, neck reining and sliding halts. I worked with Pride for an hour and 1/2 on sliding halts, I didn't stop until he really put some effort in it and brought his rear under him. I thought he did fantastic! We would ride from point A to Point B in a straight line, doing a sliding halt somewhere in the middle, then we would do a roll back and repeat. I had a blast, the horses had fun getting out and the arena was groomed. I jumped on Nickers after I got the response I wanted from Pride, we did a trotting pasenger lesson. I kept him in gear and he went wherever he liked. Nickers isn't very light on the bit, whenever he feels pressure he starts pulling faces. I'll have to work on getting him lighter.
Keep it natural,
Kaylee
PS. I found an AmAZIng saddle, I'll post more later, off to school! :)
