Hello Again!

Davey being a good girl and posing for the camera.
Well, hello my faithful followers!
Faithful you are, for I have not posted in almost 6 months. Whew, I'm finally back to give you the scoop! Pride and I have competed in the Central Idaho Horse Show Association again this year. It consisted of a horse show at Arco, Challis, Mackay and Salmon. We ended up second this year, so we are slowly making our way up the ladder. During that time we also competed in 4-H and dominated our local 4-H show. Every class we got a first place rosette. I decided to go to state in Showmanship, Bareback, and Equitation. I am so proud to say Pride and I are two consecutive year state champions in Showmanship! We also received our first 1st in Bareback this year and a second in Equitation. I have gained so many amazing memories from this year!
Pride will never cease to amaze me.
As for my project horses, Davey and Bell, things have been going slowly but surely. I took Davey to fair as my 4-H project horse. Thankfully our county had never done one before so they had no idea what to do, so I didn’t have to ride her at fair! :D I would have definitely been bucked off! Only because I have only had 5 rides on her, although they’ve gone great. She will make a great kids horse once she understands more.
As for Bell, we’ve had more trouble with her. She is so head shy it makes me wonder if the previous owners beat her. She’s a kind and curious horse, and a pleasure to ride. She’s tough to bridle because you have to unbuckle it and slip it over her neck because she won’t let you touch her ears. I’m hoping that if I spend 5 minutes everyday just messing with them that she will become more trusting. She has an enormous amount of potential, but we can only hope that she’ll come around.
Life has been great! :D
I’m in cross country so my days are busy, but that’s how I like them.
As a closing quote:
Success usually comes to those who are too busy to be looking for it.
Thank you for not abandoning me, ;)
Kaylee
