Pride - A Little Work, a Little Play

I paid my little brother $5 to take pictures for me while I played with Pride, he did a great job too. Pride was quite the performer! He always has been, if he see's a camera he seems to always be in a pose. You couldn't catch him out of one! We had a great time just messing around, he had me laughing the whole time. You'll see I took my boots off because I wanted to stand up on him while he was on the pedestal, but my socks were soooo slick! I almost fell off and then, since I threw Pride off balance, he backed up and I almost bit the dirt! I didn't do it again, I'd have to take my socks off. I ended up riding him without boots the whole time, it felt great to have my feet free! It was a really care free session, in some of the pictures I tried being as goofy as possible (Pride seemed to too, but only a little, he has to keep his dignity...I don't.). I probably felt like a sack of potatoes on his back, but I couldn't help it, I was laughing too hard! We did a lot of jumping the barrels, I wanted some pictures to put on here for fun. Pride didn't seem to mind, I kept him geussing.Sometimes I would ask him to trot (like he was going to jump it) and suddenly stop right before the barrels, back up and change direction or I would only have him put him front feet over them and sidepass towards me. We had a blast!
I tried jumping him at a trot over the barrels, but right before them my confidence dwindled a tad as Pride hopped over them with me barely holding on (I slid onto him butt, the pictures on here). I only did it once, I want to work up to the barrels, I'll start with something a little littler. Yah, that was the first time I ever jumped those. Pride was great....I was....lets just say not ready. I'll work up to it, I know I could get the hang of it if I did it alot, but I don't want to hurt Pride's knee's. Slow and Right beats Fast and Wrong. We also did the Stick To Me Game, we've been working on that alot lately. We had it just AWSOME in about June, then 4-H started and you know how that it. Everything is centered around Horse Showing. I'm not going to do that again, it kind of messed me up for a while, I got so upsessed with placing well at the Horse Show I lost sight of what truly was important. Pride. I'm not doing it again, but instead looking into the Parelli Games to give us a challenge and make sure we're more motivated to progress. I'm looking into some Parelli clinics right now :).
I kind of played around with the lasso too, I goofed of alot! Pride didn't seem to mind, which just still blows my mind. I can't believe my horse is that calm. Nobody could ever say that the horse that came to me 3 years ago is the same horse now, all the changes came when I discovered Parelli. In the roping pictures I still have my boots off :) and the coils were around Prides leg, but he didn't care! (I'm having trouble posting the roping pictures, I'll try again tomorrow)
Well tonight I put Pride in the round corral so I have to take him his food and water, I'll keep him in there for about a week. That way we can really boost our bond! Well I'll try to post those pictures tomorrow! Thanks for readin'!

Keep it natural
