*The picture of Pride pulling a face happened right after this last picture. He pushed his face down into the water clear up to his eyes while trying to get the apple, and consequently snorked up some water. :)
I had good reason to disapear for 3 days, other than to run erons in Idaho Falls we also took a road trip Sunday morning to Yellowstone National Park. It was so beautiful and amazing! It left a deap and lasting impression on me, as I looked out over the beautiful untamed wilderness and valleys as the buffalo grazed unoticedly. I was sitting in the back of the car with my camera poised ready to capture anything, but sometimes I just couldn't help but enjoy the quiet serenity that I didn't take a picture. I just soaked the scene up. We were practically on top of the world, and I felt like it. Being there, seeing nature first hand, confirmed my belief that God made this world. Even after that 1 day of being kind of a part of nature naturally, has made me fall deeper in love with animals and this beautiful land.
I've gotten this insert from the book Learning Their Language by Marta Williams:
The white people never cared for land or deer or bear. When we Indians kill meat, we eat it all up. When we dig roots we make little holes. When we build houses, we make little holes. When we burn grasses for grasshopers, we don't ruin things. We shake down acorns and pine nuts. We don't chop down the trees. We only use dead wood. But the white people plow up the ground, pull down trees, kill everything. The tree says, "No. I am sore. Don't hurt me." But they chop it down and cut it up. The spirit of the land hates them. They blast out trees and stir it up to its depths. They saw up the trees. That hurts them. The Indians never hurt anything, but the white people destroy all. They blast rocks and scatter them on the ground. The rock says, "Don't. You are hurting me." but the white people pay no attention. When the indeans use rocks, they take little round ones for their cooking. How can the spirit of the earth like the white man? Everywhere the white man has touched it, it is sore.
I am striving for never ending self improvement and I've decided to learn Intuitive Communication with Animals. I am learning from Marta Williams book, so we'll see how it goes. I'm not sure I believe in it, but I'll learn for myself whether it works.
Anyway back to the fun stuff! Here are highlights of my Yellowstone strip, I hope they move you as much as they have me,
*This buffalo melted my heart, it was so gentle looking, just like a horse. "Every wild horse has a gentle horse underneath; every gentle horse has a wild horse underneath." -Pat Parelli (I know that's not worded correctly, but it was something like that)
My grandma was ranting on about how stupid bison were and how unintelligent they looked... if she only new. She was also saying that about horses, and everyone with a grandma knows its pointless to try to argue with them. Atleast I know Bison and Horses are wayyy smarter than humans...
*It looks like it was raining here, but the water is actually boiling (it was sunny all day). The water is runnoff from the picture below.
*Geyser
*This mountain lake reached as far as the eye could see. It was amazing.
*Old Faithful
*Ella was having a fun time!!
As I edit my pictures I'll be sure to add some more in the future... I took probably about 300 pictures before my camera died. So more coming soon!!!
Naturally,
Kaylee

Great pictures, Kaylee!
