Savvy = Bobbing For Apples

Alright, so I did not disappear until Monday.
I just happened to find a little time -we are in Idaho Falls, I am missing my boy so much..I hate to leave him with someone else - to keep in touch with you. Doyle Lamb in feeding my team while we are gone, he is the only one person in this entire world that I trust my horses with. He is feeding them once a day, which is not their regular schedule, but it will have to do until I come back on Monday and start pampering them again.
"Horses sleep 3 hours a day, the rest of the 21 hours they are thinking what they're gonna do that day and the next." -Pat Parelli
Alright, that saying is really unnerving to me right now, knowing that my horses are stuck in a pen together, all 5 of them. Each one only sleeps 3 hours a day, and each one is thinking of a different plan about how they are going to spend their 21 hours that day. That means trouble x 5... so I am proud to announce I have put my savvy to work yet again. Before I left, I went out to reluctantly tell my horse goodbye and have a little talk with him about being "safe" and "smart" while I was gone (I know that is EXTREME direct line behavior, but I can't help it. It helps me believe he will be while I'm gone).
While I was out there I could not bear the thought of leaving my horse for 4 days in complete boredom. It wasn't fare to them. So I came up with the smart idea of giving them something to play with while I was gone. The Game I came up with was....bobbing for apples. Genius, isn't it? :) I have pictures of Pride bobbing for apples, it was hilarious. I just stuck 5 apples in their water trough and let whoever have a try at getting them. So I asked Doyle to throw about 5 apples in the trough every day to keep my horses somewhat preoccupied. I hope it is working, today was the first day Doyle was supposed to feed and because I am an over protective horse-mom I'm going to call and check things out. Make sure Pride hasn't hung himself with boredom (I'm not too worried about this because I locked all my ropes up before I left), I wouldn't be surprised if I came back to find the Nickers had dug a tunnel under the fence so he could get out. Yah, that's my horses ;)...
Well, I will post pictures of Pride Bobbing for Apples as soon as I can, unfortunately I left my camera cord at home so I can't post them right now.
Well I'm off to call Doyle to see how things went,
Savvy on!!!
