This winter has been driving me crazy! Pride and I are so close to completing our Level 4, but there are tasks we just can't work on with the snow here. The grounds hard, its slick, and its really cold. So instead of trying to complete a task, I decided that he would come jogging with me. We've went 3 times already, we jog about 1 mile.
I just ignore Pride the whole time, I don't bother him but I just let him do his own thing just as long as he keeps me in Zone 1. He loves it! I find it fun too, its our bonding time together. His trust in me has grown, his creativity, and his willingness.
I got brain storming and have come up with a little something to set his mind working. When we get back from our jogging I usually play with him, I have him come to me for mount up then we ride over to the horse trailer (with only fingure tips yeilds) I dismount and let him go in then I just put him away. I'm going to put a bucket of oats in there before we go jogging, I want him to see the trailer and get ecxited.
Well what where doing is simple, but its fun and provocative.
May the horse (and warmth!) be with you ;),

I can completely understand! Our riding ring has been almost complete ice for most of the winter. It definitely causes you to be more imaginative!! :)
