So I've started to give myself homework, to build my creativity, and prepare me for when I leave for the ICU. There's no better time than now to start my education, I want to be the one Pat Parelli looks at and see's something special. :) I know I love horses, I know how to work with them, I know how to get where I'm going. Nothing is holding me back now! :) This week I've taken Mariah Helms homeword and made it my own :)

I haven't been doing much with Pride lately. I've been focusing mostly on our relationship, grooming him everyday, massaging, and keeping the feathers on his feet trimmed (they seem to grow at least an 1" every week and they collect mud like crazy!) It's also given me plenty of time to really think things threw.
Horses are special, they never forget, but almost always forgive. Why can't we be like these creatures and forgive? My horse is my best friend, he stands by me no matter what, he doesn't leave when I embarrass myself, he doesn't mock me or turn on me. He doesn't tell my secrets, he doesn't laugh when I tell him how I feel. Those are the only friends worth having. It's a shame we can't find many people out there as good or better than a horse (predatorially speaking). We lower our expectations, we allow our friends to tell our secrets because inside we knew that they'd of never been able to keep them a secret. We let our friends leave us behind. Why? If only we were like the horse... living moment to moment, not caring about what anyone thinks of them, forgiving but never forgetting, being the one true friend in this world who would keep your secrets. My horse can't talk, but if I listen hard enough I know exactly what he's saying. I'm so grateful I have one friend that's true. I have wonderful human friends, but people make mistakes, they mess up. My horse doesn't. If a horse makes a mistake its usually life threatning, so they naturally don't make many mistakes. Pride always tells me the truth, when I'm with him there's nothing left except the truth. I'm just so grateful God blessed us with such a perfect thing in this imperfect world. God has blessed with these amazing creatures to teach us to be more like them. To dedicate our life to helping others, teaching them the things they need. After all that is exactly what our horses do for us, why not take what they've taught you and share it? Everyday, I look at my beautiful horse and see his gorgeous spirit and I know that's who I want to be. It will take hard work, but I want to be that one sweet sole to all my friends. My friends who aren't blessed with the sweet sole of a horse.
May the horse be with you,
Kaylee

You surely love your horse, Kaylee.. :-)
